The extension that I found to be fun and interesting is called, Texmage. The purpose of the Texmage extension is to create texmages, which are images with text over it. Texmages are commonly used for displaying inspirational quotations in a visually appealing manner. Using this extension, one can create their own texmages by uploading an image from their library, copying and pasting an image URL or dragging and dropping directly from a webpage into the Texmage window. Once selected, the image can be cropped and repositioned to the user’s liking. Once the image is chosen, one can overlay text on the image. The text can vary between normal, bold or italics. There are five popular font options, three font sizes and twelve font color choices. The user can choose to have the text aligned from the left, right or center of the image. If the user does not want to use an image, they have the option to select a background color, instead. The background color options are the same twelve color options for font colors. The user is also able to alter the opacity of the image to highlight the text. Finally, the user can share their texmage directly to eleven popular social media platforms or save the texmage to their library as a JPEG. This extension is great because it is simple and easy to use by making a free account. I love it because it is a useful tool for jazzing up a quotation. As a teacher, this could be used to add some exciting visuals to a lesson, or printed out and displayed in the classroom. Students would likely enjoy using this extension because it produces attractive results. I could see this extension being most beneficial for people who blog and are active on social media. The Texmage extension is fun and easy to use for everyone!
